Gal Gadot, the latest Wonder Woman, shared in the May edition of W magazine how she got ready for her highly sought-after audition. To calm her anxiety, she danced to Beyoncé’s empowering “Who runs the world? Girls!” tune.

Despite being six months pregnant with her second child, Gadot still looked stunningly beautiful and had an effortless grace about her. During a visit to Duff’s CakeMix in Los Angeles, Gadot displayed her organizational skills by selecting white and purple fondant, a star-shaped cookie cutter, purple icing, and small gold balls to decorate her cake. Patty Jenkins, the director of “Wonder Woman,” praised Gadot’s natural beauty, kindness, and strength, stating that she is perfectly suited to portray the iconic comic book character.
Gadot was in the process of rolling out fondant on a table when she shared her unfamiliarity with Wonder Woman due to growing up in Israel. However, she recognized the character as a household name, much like Superman. For those unaware, Wonder Woman, also known as Diana Prince, was brought to life by Zeus after being sculpted from clay. In the film set during World War I, she fights for love and justice alongside the Allied forces while wielding her magical bullet-defying bracelets and lasso. Unlike Batman, she is not consumed by existential angst but rather believes in the triumph of goodness over evil.
Securing the role of Wonder Woman was no easy feat for Gadot, and she first appeared as the character in last year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Despite this success, Gadot never intended to become a comic book legend or even an actress for that matter. After winning the title of Miss Israel in 2004, a casting director asked her to audition for Quantum of Solace’s Bond girl. Initially, she declined the offer, stating that she was studying law and international relations and felt too serious and smart to be an actress. Furthermore, she lacked comfort with the English scripts despite speaking the language.
